THE COUNTDOWN IS ON...

The Gabardi Memoir is having its final proof rood and then it will be released THIS MONTH!

Yay, pop open the champagne and whip up a cake to celebrate! Book Three in the series. Wow.

When I wrote the first one I had the idea of making sure that Alexi had brothers, in case I wanted it to be a series rather than just a standalone, and here they all are.

Alexi, Angelo and Alberto. The Gabardi Brothers.

In fact, I wrote the first one during a lockdown when I had already booked in annual leave from work and we were told, we still had to take it. Even though we couldn't go anywhere.

Bloody brilliant, I thought. A week to do nothing except see if I can finish the first draft of this book that I wrote the first and only chapter for ages ago. This was truly amazing, thought I, and I would NEVER get this opportunity ever again. I couldn't go anywhere, see anyone, do anything.

And so for that week I wrote the book and finished it.

So what is it about?

When Alberto Gabardi decides to write a family memoir, he calls on ex-girlfriend Charlotte for help. She's a top New York editor, and she agrees to come over to the UK for a month to help. She has another reason however. One of her authors, fantasy novelist Elizabeth Beckley,  is so late submitting her manuscript that Charlotte is seriously worried. She has let a lot of things slide this past year as she's dealt with a divorce and the death of her mother, and now she's worried her career will be next. Going to England to help her ex, and get the manuscript, will solve the problems.

Except she hasn't counted on still having those feelings for Alberto Gabardi, even after all this time. Even though he was the one that dumped her!

And Alberto clearly is writing this memoir with more than leaving a family history for the Gabardis.

As the two of them work together on the book, and as Charlotte tries to get to the bottom of her author's reluctance to finish her novel, it becomes clear that Alberto is deeply troubled. Will she ever get to the bottom of it? Or will she end up returning to New York just like she did all those years ago, with her heart broken by Alberto Gabardi?

Stay tuned for the release of The Gabardi Memoir.
