A twit and a book

I am nursing a slightly bruised knee after I tripped while on a walk. The stupidity of it was that it was in a park, around a very wide track, and there was hardly anyone else around, but I sort of tripped on the edge and sprawled on to the grass. To curb embarrassment in case I had been spotted, I leapt (sort of) to my feet, brushed myself off and finished the walk with dodgy knee and a bit of a scrape on the hand. What gets me was that I was on a concrete path with no ruts or anything, a perfectly good path for running and cycling. What a twit. That's all I can say. Twit!! I suspect I was off in lala land at the time. I'm not sure what else can explain it. Just walking too close to the edge and ending up inelegantly on hands and knees.

Currently reading: The Storm Sister by Lucinda Riley. I  haven't read the first one and in fact only happened upon this in a charity shop, even though I'd heard about the series. Well! I am currently hooked on this book and once my writing quota is done for the day, I'll be back into the pages. Fabulous so far, but there is a long, long way to go!

Reading the series

 I've been reading the earlier Gabardi books just to make sure all the details are correct for the current book.  Things such as timelines, and character details and so on. It has been quite fun doing it, too, and I am inspired to get the Gabardi books and the Bluebell Road books into print. As for The Gabardi Memoir , it has been sent out and I am expecting it back shortly, and then the plan is to work on the last bit of the plan, which is the proofing for typos etc.  I am still looking at an early February release, even though February is only ONE WEEK AWAY!!

The end of the ham

 I made a pea and ham soup yesterday and it was the most divine thing. We are big "ham for Boxing Day and beyond" people. It lasts for weeks. Weeks of sandwiches and if one is low carb-ish, ham and other things. So yummy. But it was at the end ie we'd eaten most of it, so I chucked it in a pot with onion, and split peas, stock and seasoning, parsley and a few random vegetables It was very yummy. We made bread in the breadmaker to go with it, a focaccia with olive oil and herbs Again, so yummy. And that is the end of the ham for another year.
