Book Two in the Bluebell Road series is titled... From This Day.



Here is the cover although I may tweak it a bit. I love the illustrated look with the lovely fonts, however.

So what's From This Day all about?

Katie O'Connor lives in the flat on Bluebell Road with Julia (These Magic Moments) and Lydia. Her fiance left her for her best friend so she's starting over. She works for Danny Frampton at Frampton's Coffee, a coffee importer and roaster in London, and she happens to think that James Rutherford, her boss's lawyer and friend, is pretty hot.

Even more she said as much one evening at work drinks, Jonathan heard, and to say she is mortified is putting it mildly.

Jonathan is representing Danny in his divorce but it is tough going. Danny is besotted with his new (and pregnant) love, while his wife and partner in the firm, Bethany, isn't making the divorce settlement easy. Jonathan is torn between what is morally right (Danny's behaviour is wrong on all levels), and doing his best for him as his lawyer. 

But when he suspects that Bethany isn't as clean as she's making out, he enlists Katie to help him out.

And the adventure begins...

This is a cosy romance with a bit of humour, and a rolicking read as Katie and James set out on a crazy adventure. Plus there's plenty of the old gang of Julia and Lydia at Bluebell Road.

Reading the series

 I've been reading the earlier Gabardi books just to make sure all the details are correct for the current book.  Things such as timelines, and character details and so on. It has been quite fun doing it, too, and I am inspired to get the Gabardi books and the Bluebell Road books into print. As for The Gabardi Memoir , it has been sent out and I am expecting it back shortly, and then the plan is to work on the last bit of the plan, which is the proofing for typos etc.  I am still looking at an early February release, even though February is only ONE WEEK AWAY!!

The end of the ham

 I made a pea and ham soup yesterday and it was the most divine thing. We are big "ham for Boxing Day and beyond" people. It lasts for weeks. Weeks of sandwiches and if one is low carb-ish, ham and other things. So yummy. But it was at the end ie we'd eaten most of it, so I chucked it in a pot with onion, and split peas, stock and seasoning, parsley and a few random vegetables It was very yummy. We made bread in the breadmaker to go with it, a focaccia with olive oil and herbs Again, so yummy. And that is the end of the ham for another year.
